Shortly after returning from a very successful tour in Japan last September/October, Dutch metal legends MARTYR parted from bass player Jeffrey. After a relatively short search, a lot of national and international applications and a couple of audition rounds they are happy to introduce their new bass player.
The new man is Vinnie Wassink from Doetinchem/The Netherlands. Vinnie is a skilled bass player who has played in a lot of bands such as Natural Science and will be a great addition to the MARTYR. The band is stoked to get on stage again and write new material. "We haven chosen Vinnie because we have experienced a personal click and his bass playing has impressed us. Vinnie is also a regular visitor to our concerts. So it is very cool to have found someone who is eager to play national and international gigs but is also appreciating the music" according to Rick Bouwman, one of the founders of the band.
Vinnie states: "I am delighted to be the new bass player of MARTYR. It's great to be able to play in a band that I have always admired. I'm looking forward get on the road and participate in writing new material with MARTYR soon. I am very excited"
The band and management would like to thank all people who sent in applications, videos, rehearsed MARTYR songs and made the effort to come and audition for the job. Bouwman: "We are also very honored by all the responses from all over the world. You rock!"
